The deep, handcrafted quilts on the headboard work in harmony with the vertical stitching around the base. The topper, which is an integral part of the mattress, has been accented with thick piping all round and quilting on the sleeping surface. Astoria's continental design consists of several layers to ensure a comfortable sleep. The base layer is a semi-hard box with the addition of polyurethane foam. The next level is a mattress with a two-tier spring system – Bonell and pocket springs. The mattress also contains a layer of Gelax foam, a layer of antibacterial foam and a layer of highly flexible foam. The precise juxtaposition of these layers not only ensures comfort, but also creates 7 zones of support for the spine. Astoria is a bed that offers comprehensive support for healthy sleep.
